Zipp’s 858 NSW wheels are now faster than ever, thanks to their Total System Efficiency (TSE) technology. This design includes a tubeless, hookless rim that reduces weight and creates a smooth fit with the tire. Despite having deep rims, the 858 weighs as little as much shallower wheels. Its 23mm internal width is ideal for wider tires run at lower pressures, which helps reduce rolling resistance. TSE technology addresses four key speed barriers: wind resistance, gravity, rolling resistance, and vibration. The rim’s unique 85mm depth and patented Sawtooth shape improve aerodynamic performance and stability in crosswinds, making it perfect for triathletes, time trialists, and speed-focused riders. While it’s optimized for tubeless tires, it also works with tubeless-ready tires and tubes. It performs best with a 28mm tire, and using wider, lower-pressure tubeless tires not only increases speed but also smooths the ride, helping athletes stay fresher for the run. Disc brakes provide strong, reliable stopping power in all weather conditions, and the wheel includes Zipp’s high-performance ZR1 SL hubs with ceramic bearings for reliable use.

The CLX III are exceptional I was a little apprehensive about buying them having ridden the Enve 4.5 but you feel less crosswinds and their lighter and spin fast. The spokes seemed to offer a lot of dampening vibration. Win win in my book.
