Look good, feel good, ride good—and adage as old as cycling itself… That’s the idea behind the new Recon ADV, where riding in style is just as important as the actual ride. This gravel shoe checks all the boxes in the aesthetics department, but is no slouch when it comes to cranking out miles. Recon ADV is suited for the rider who values adventure, time on the bike, and needs an all-day shoe that will keep going when the gravel ends. Recon ADV’s excellent walkability is made possible by STRIDE Toe-Flex Technology, providing a more natural feeling for off-the-bike adventuring.
Don’t let the good looks fool you, this shoe is also built inside-out with our Body Geometry Technology, making it a menace on the pedals. Driven by nearly two decades of development and validated by science, we ensure there is no pain, only performance, where your body meets the bike. Through our creation of the Varus Wedge, Longitudinal Arch, and Metatarsal Button, your feet stay in their most optimal position when pedaling—as well as inline with your knee and hips.

I used to have an Edge 540 Solar which was not touch, and it was truly a pain to use. It felt like it was designed to be touch, then last minute added as a non-touch option. But I did like the data screen and the size. The solar charging was minimal, so when my Edge 540 was stolen I opted for the touch version without solar and I couldn't be happier! It has a good battery life, touch works so much better than the button versions, and the lack of a solar frame helps in certain light conditions as the solar frame would provide some glare once in a while. Highly recommend!
Sierra Bicycle Supply responded to my complaint in less than 2 hours and issued a refund for the defective tube.
This indicates to me that they are a good customer-oriented organization.
ORIGINAL COMPLAINT:
Both tires and tubes were well packaged and arrived safely. (All Condition Armadillo 700X25 and Standard Presta Valve tube 700X20-28C) I installed them and pumped them up with no problem. The next time I went to ride, the rear tube valve had a substantial leak. Loosening the nut and pressing the release pin resulted in a loud air leak that does not stop when I release the pin. The loud leak appears to stop when the nut is firmly tightened. I don't trust this arrangement.
I’ve had several cruxes, including an S works crux and for the money this is quite the value. I did a gravel race and cyclocross Race on my new DSW crux after cracking my S works frame in a Bike Crash. I was really impressed. Sure it’s about a pound heavier, but it has 90% of the performance. Great price point and probably more robust for CX.
